The Brave New World of Goan Writing & Art 2025

My essay Haruki's Siolim Vaddo Walks is a conversation with my beloved Labrador Haruki about the relentless gentrification of my village Siolim. I cry about folks constantly looking to duplicate their big city lives in their relentless search for dry cleaning, dog spas, cortados and croissants.

Ways of Belonging

I have a short story called A Saturday Evening in Siolim. A reflective piece on the many different ways people choose to belong in Siolim. I meet construction workers shopping for veggies, new settlers enjoying their paddy views and private pools, others struggling with sustainable lifestyles, and tourists on the hunt for Instagrammable bars.
